A Message from the Sheriff

Dear Fellow Gilchrist County Citizens,

Sheriff Daniel W. Slaughter

On behalf of the men and women of my staff and myself, I would like to welcome you to the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office website. This site is intended to assist you by providing information that will answer your questions about the responsibilities and operations of the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.

It is an honor to serve as your Sheriff and I want to thank each of you for the trust and support you have given me. My commitment to our community is to provide the highest level of service by our Sheriff's Office as possible. My mission statement is simple: Safety and Security for All Citizens. Exceptional law enforcement is about understanding difficult situations, working for strong community relationships and ensuring the safety of our citizens, which will make our county an even safer place to live, work and raise your family. I assure you I believe in important values, including acting with integrity and demonstrating respect.

The Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office is comprised of approximately 65 very dedicated and professional men and women. Every employee of the Sheriff's Office is committed to providing the highest quality of service. All of us - uniformed officers, sworn officers and civilian staff - are proud to serve the people of Gilchrist County. We are working as your team in law enforcement and public safety.

In closing, I would like to personally thank you for taking time to stop and visit. Hopefully, you now have a better understanding of the many functions being performed "around the clock" by your Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.
